[ETUDE HOUSE] SHINI STAR *Clear BB Lotion & Clear Pact*

Yesterday I received two new products: The SHINI STAR Clear BB Lotion and SHINI STAR Clear Pact. This product line by [ETUDE HOUSE] is the SHINee Special Edition. If you don't know it, SHINee are a Korean boy band.
They also released some Lip Balms and Toner/ Skin (the latter under the name 'mal:gem').

Description: Colostrum extract protects the skin from dehydration with no irritation and prevents the loss of moisture in the skin cell layer to maintain the health of skin.
4-Free System: No Paraben, No Ethanol, No Mineral Oil, No Benzophenone.

Clear BB Lotion (SPF20):
Description: BB Lotion moisturizing foundation promotes a moist, brightened and natural complexion look.

The SHINI STAR product line comes in cute baby pink & blue colors with some gold. On the packagings are the descriptions in Korean & English.
The Clear BB Lotion comes in a tube with a pump and 30g contents.
You can get the BB Lotion only in one shade which I would say is a light-medium beige.
The consistency is not very thick - rather lotion-like what would explain the products name: BB Lotion instead of BB Cream. It has just a light coverage, so I have to use a compact powder over it to cover skin blemishes better. The scent is not too strong!
BB Lotion contains Water, Zinc Oxide, Milk Protein Extract, Silica, Rice Extract, Sesame Seed Extract, Soybean Seed Extract, Blackberry Fruit Extract, Oat Kernel Extract, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and other things.

Clear Pact (#1 Peach):
Description: Moist pressed powder subdues facial oil to promote soft, luminous skin.

The packaging of the Clear Pact has the same colors as the Clear BB Lotion and the powder itself is inside a round baby blue container. 10g are inside, plus a mirror and a small soft powder puff.
I was wondering first why this powder isn't available in beige shades. Anyway, I decided to get #1 Peach (Natural Skin Tone). The other color available is #2 Lavender (Splendid Skin Tone).
This powder got fine shimmer and does mainly mattify my skin. The color is barely visible so don't worry, you won't get a pinkish or violet face. The coverage is light that's why I use it over a compact powder but when my skin is in better condition I will use it alone, too.
The Clear Pact contains Talc, Silica, Corn Starch, Milk Protein Extract, Rice Extract, Sesame Seed Extract, Soybean Seed Extract, Blackberry Fruit Extract, Oat Kernel Extract and more.

I like both products but these are only good when I don't need to cover much. So, I will use them on my 'better' days. I also think these products are good for combination and oily skin coz they say it absorbs sebum.
I wore them for around 4 hours today and my skin didn't look too oily after that time. I didn't notice any breakouts yet as well!

Price: around 11,- €/ US$14.50 (Clear BB Lotion); around 10,-€/ US$13.50 (Clear Pact)
Bought at: eBay (zinopark)

What I love:
There is nothing I really love atm.

What I don’t like:
The coverage could be better.

Will I buy this again? I don't think so!

    1. There is Fragrance (Perfume) inside, so it does smell but it's ok for me. It's not a really strong scent. =)

  2. I was actually curious about the shinee line. I purchased the lavander powder (still in the mail) hoping that the purple will neutralize sallow yellow complexion. Peach neutralizes blue tones. I use concealer with any foundation so I don't mind the light coverage :3 I might order it since your swatches look like it would match me. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I still dont understand why the powder isn't available in beige. o3o Luckily, the Peach looks not pinkish on my skin. Don't know how the Lavender looks, though.

    3. Will u review it?? I'm curious about how it looks on the skin. =)

    4. Yes I will! It neutralizes yellow tones and gives me a cooler complexion that makes wearing cool tone make up such as really pale lavender lipsticks a lot easier). However, it does nothing for oil control and it isn't as finely milled as I'd like it to be :[ it looks almost chalky lol

  3. does the oil control work? And we can still use this as base for makeup like bb cream right? thanks :)

    1. For me the oil control is not too good. After a few hours my skin gets shiny again. But I have this problem with almost every BB Cream.
Yes, the BB Lotion is the same as a BB Cream just with a lighter coverage. =)

  4. Is the pressed powder has shimmers? Does it has any coverage cause I want to put it on my BB cream? Also what about the ingredients? Are they very "bad"? Is it ok to use only the sponge to aply or better to use a brush?

    1. Hi! ^^
1.) Yes, the pressed powder (#1 Peach) got some fine shimmer but you don't really see that on your face. =)
2.) The coverage is rather low. It's mainly for giving your face a matte finish. But the BB cream covers skin imperfections already, so it should be fine. ^^
3.) What are the really 'bad' ingredients? It contains a lot of stuff. ><
4.) I applied the powder just with the sponge yet. I'm sure you can apply it with a brush as well.

  5. I bought the BB too, was thinking about getting the pact too.
I was also wondering about the shimmers but the person before already asked. I think it comes in those 2 shades cause it's meant to be a color corrector depending on your undertones?

It is a matted look even with the shimmers in it? And any noticeable color different from the pact?

  6. I loveeeeee SHINee! Etude House is so smart to have them, hehe. If I didn't know that the color is too light, I probably would have gotten this just because of SHINee and the cute packaging. XD

  7. I have white skin so if I use shini star clear bb lotion it would make my face looks tanned or not? I haven't tryed this neither a BB cream so what should I do? should I buy it or not? Suggest me something

    1. Hi, the BB lotion should be bright enough to suit white skin. It looks good on my one anyway and I got white skin, too. =) Yor face won't look tanned coz the BB Lotion is really a rather bright beige. ^^
If you don't need a BB Cream with a strong coverage than you can try it out. =)

    2. ok but you said it doesn't cover that much imperfection so I think after application it would look like a foundation am I wrong? O.o

    3. Yap, it would look like a foundation. If you need a better coverage apply a face powder afterwards or choose a BB cream with better coverage. =)

  8. Hi,
How would you say this compares to the Missha BB cream in colour? Is it lighter or daker?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I can compare it only with MISSHA Perfect Cover BB #21 and the SHINI STAR Clear BB Lotion is a bit lighter.
The coverage is not as good as the MISSHA one, though!

  9. hey I was wondering that can we use this pact in the morning for school? My nose bridge sucks so I want to apply it on my nose bridge and on my forehead. But would it be too much for school? I want a natural look for school. :(

    1. Hi! ^^
Sure, you can use the powder pact for school since it has just a light coverage. =) Even the BB Lotion would be good for that.
